INNOVATIONS PROPOSAL

Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) has received two proposal for Innovations projects. Thirty day comment period opens August 7, 2023. The public comment period ends at 5 p.m. on Sept. 6, 2023. The two proposed projects are:

Project 1: Supporting Community Driven Practices for Health Equity

Creates a formal partnership with Level Up NorCal to provide outreach and services to Shasta County’s underserved Southeast Asian and Latinx populations. The goal is to remove linguistic and cultural barriers these communities face in accessing and using county behavioral health programs and services. They will act as bridge between families, participants receiving services and staff by providing culturally competent strategies and approaches to behavioral health. See the proposal here.

Project 2: Extracurricular/Enrichment Activities Funding

Creates a formal partnership with California Youth Connection to provide stipends for Foster Youth to participate in enrichment activities. Studies show when youth have access to safe and healthy activities outside of the home, they are less likely to engage in recreational substance use. These opportunities give them a sense of belonging, helping youth build lifelong connections with others. See the proposal here.
